Farmgirlfit Cd’A
Branch Manager for an Industrial Sales Company
I actually started with Jenni Niemann back in 2010 before there was a Farmgirlfit. I always had a gym membership but never really did much with it. It was more of a way for me to stay active and have adult time away from my kids. I was beginning to get bored and looked for something that would really push me. I heard through Facebook about a women’s only Crossfit class and thought I would try it. Jenni was the coach. I instantly fell in love with the concept, and followed her to the founding of Farmgirlfit…been a member ever since!
I would also like to note that I brought my BFF and workout partner with me back in 2010…some of you might know her. She was not at all interested as she had a membership to the “athletic club” and was getting everything she felt she needed. But she came to make me happy. Now that BFF and workout partner is managing Farmgirlfit Cd’A, and is in the best shape of her life both mentally and physically….and she owes it all to me!!! LOL
Running the mile without stopping was a huge accomplishment!! I joke that I don’t run to the phone, but I don’t! Running is very uncomfortable for me. I’ve never figured out what that “runners high” is everyone keeps talking about…cause I’m still chasing it. LOL Though I may be slow, this is a big accomplishment for a girl with a 34F bra size. J
I still want to find my way up that darn rope!!!!! It’s just one of those things that has eluded me. I am not a “hardcore fitness junky,” I just want to remain active and be as fit as my body allows me to be for as long as I can. For me it’s not about my weight, or even the way I look in the mirror…it’s about being happy and strong. I know I am stronger now than I have ever been.
Bears! I like that it combines many movements into one exercise.
Turkish get-ups. I have another name for them I can’t use here!
Black Betty by Ram Jam
“Are you dead….No! Then keep your butt moving!”
The women. I love that we have all different body types and all levels of fitness. I love to see everyone encouraging one another. I remember how important it was to me when I first started, hearing Jenni say, “You can do this.” I always remember what it was like to be the new girl in class, and try to encourage the new girls that come in now. That is the best part for me.
I am a mom of two. My son is 20 and my daughter is almost 14. When I am not toting around my very busy daughter, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. We enjoy travel, and boating on Cd’A in the summers.
I have unusually short arms for my height. T-Rex arms if you will.
Combo of the Cabbage Patch and the Running Man…I still got it!
DON’T GIVE UP!! I was the new girl once. I hope for you that when you feel like you can’t do one more sit-up, burpee , wall ball or Turkish get-up, that someone reaches for your hand and says, “You can do this!” Just like someone did for me 5 years ago.
